Frequently asked questions
- How do I select which pages to keep?
- Choose the page-range mode and type pages like 1,3,5-7 to pull just those pages into one new PDF. Page numbers start at 1. The each-page mode ignores the range and saves every page as a separate file.
- Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
- No. The tool uses pdf-lib running entirely in your browser. Your file is read from local memory, processed on your device, and the resulting PDF downloads straight to your computer. Nothing is transmitted to any server.
- Why does my browser ask to allow multiple downloads?
- When you use the each-page mode, the tool triggers one download per page. Browsers treat multiple automatic downloads as potentially suspicious and show a permission prompt. Click Allow to let all the files through.
- Can I split a password-protected PDF?
- No. The tool cannot open encrypted or password-protected PDF files. You will need to remove the password protection first using the original application or a trusted desktop tool, then upload the unlocked version here.
