Frequently asked questions
- How do I choose which pages to delete?
- Type the pages to remove, such as 2,4,6-8. Page numbers start at 1. Everything else is kept in its original order. You cannot delete every page, since the result would be an empty file.
- Does the tool work with password-protected PDFs?
- No. The tool uses pdf-lib in the browser and cannot open encrypted or password-protected files. You will need to remove the password first using the owner password in your PDF reader, then upload the unlocked file here.
- Will deleting pages reduce the file size?
- Usually yes, because removing pages also removes the content streams and resources used only by those pages. Shared resources like embedded fonts may remain even after deletion, so the reduction is proportional to how much content the removed pages contained.
- Is there a page limit or file size limit?
- The tool runs entirely in your browser and is limited only by the memory your device can spare. Very large PDFs with many high-resolution images may be slow to process or cause the tab to run out of memory. For most office documents and reports there is no practical limit.
