Frequently asked questions

What is a QBO file?
QBO is the QuickBooks Web Connect format, an OFX variant that adds Intuit identification fields. QuickBooks imports it to load bank transactions. This tool builds a QBO file in your browser; you may need to set the correct bank and account ids for your QuickBooks setup.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Everything is parsed and converted locally in your browser and the QBO file downloads from your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
Which date formats are supported?
The converter accepts DD/MM/YYYY (common in the UK and Australia), MM/DD/YYYY (common in the US), and YYYY-MM-DD (ISO 8601). Select the format that matches your bank statement before downloading the QBO file to avoid mis-ordered dates.
Why does QuickBooks reject my QBO file?
The most common causes are a mismatched account ID or an incorrect bank routing number in the file header. Try updating the Account ID field to match the account number QuickBooks expects, then re-download the file. QuickBooks also rejects QBO files with encrypted PDFs or non-ASCII characters in the description field.
